Turn A Right Handed Guitar Into A Lefty
Depending on the guitar's body shape and switch placement, some instruments can be modified to convert a right handed guitar into left handed and vice versa.
Minimal Requirements
Nut Replacement
First, the nut must be replaced. The slots will be too small to accommodate the bass strings and too large for the treble strings. Simply cutting the small slots wider for the bass strings would still leave the treble strings to vibrate freely in the large slots which no only looks bad, it usually results in buzzing or loss of sustain.
Intonation Correction
The intonation (position of the saddles) must be adjusted to insure the instrument plays in tune up and down the neck.
In order to correct the intonation, the saddles must be adjusted to compensate the strings length.
